Long before she became a wellness educator, life coach, meditation instructor, interior designer, and children's author, Dionne Setien was simply a curious little girl with a big imagination.

Growing up, books were a luxury she didn't always have. Aside from her schoolbooks, there were very few books at home. But every day, her grandfather, Bernardino, found a beautiful way to inspire her love of learning.

Together, they would sit side by side reading the dictionary.

He taught her that every new word opened the door to a new idea, every idea created a new dream, and every dream had the power to change a life.

Those quiet moments planted a seed that would stay with her forever.

Today, every story she writes carries a small piece of the lessons her grandfather gave her—curiosity, kindness, imagination, courage, gratitude, and the belief that learning never ends.

Years later, while attending Miami Dade College, Dionne volunteered with the America Reads Program, where she helped elementary school children strengthen their reading skills and build confidence through literacy.

Watching children smile as they discovered new words and new stories reminded her that books do much more than teach children how to read—they help children believe in themselves.

That experience became one of the greatest inspirations behind her dream of creating children's books that teach life lessons in a gentle, joyful, and memorable way.

What makes Dionne's books especially meaningful is that many of the characters are inspired by real people and real experiences that have shaped her own life.

Tiny Hugs, Big Love™ was inspired by her son, Josh, when he was a baby, and by the unconditional love that surrounded him every day from his family—and from Drake, the family's beloved miniature Dachshund. It celebrates the simple moments of affection that help children feel safe, cherished, and deeply loved.
